Enjoy the Benefits of Remote Network Monitoring with TechCare

Out Of Sight, Out Of Mind -- Enjoy the Benefits of Remote Network Monitoring Without The IT Burden

Your network or application is down and you need it corrected quickly or your business suffers through loss of productivity, revenue or image. With TechCare from Applied Tech corrective action is already underway to get you up and running again.

Today’s remote network monitoring applications can help us generate valuable information about your network health and performance. This data, pulled from firewall and VPN logs, helps our network administrators quickly determine which of your network components are overburdened, underutilized or at risk.

And by hiring out this service, you can gain all the information you need to make critical decisions, without placing an additional burden on your busy IT personnel.

If you are an SMB with numerous PCs, one or more servers and whether or not you have an IT staff, remote network monitoring may prove to be an ideal solution.  Here’s why:

Getting Started with SharePoint

Did you know that Server 2003 and Business Server 2003 have SharePoint services? SharePoint is the foundation for a company portal. Do you remember when all files were saved in a filing cabinet instead of on your network? By getting started with Share Point your files no longer just reside in some folder in your network, but files are as easy to find or search for as using a search engine like Google.

Let us demonstrate our understanding of your business needs, not just your technology needs. By providing a central repository for documents and business intelligence, and customizing it to your exact business, we have transitioned from just storing documents to a more intellectual way of managing your information.

The goal is to create the foundation for a company portal, design a robust and reliable Intranet to ease corporate management, improve collaboration and workflow for all employees, and enable highly-secure and managed access and information sharing. Contact us today for more information!

Have old equipment? Contact Applied Tech!

Electronics, while essential within most workplaces, become outdated or obsolete after only a few years. Each computer component contains hazardous materials, such as mercury, lead, and cadmium, and if improperly disposed of can destroy the environment. However, resources within the computer and electronics can be used for the future and, in the long run, help protect the environment. Businesses, as well as individuals, can do their part by making an effort to recycle these items so that they do not end up in landfills.

An immediate concern for businesses is that company data is completely removed from obsolete equipment. The deletion of files does not physically remove the data, only the repetitive writing of nonsense data across the entire drive or the physical destruction of the disk drive will insure that the data cannot be stolen.

Applied Tech has partnered with Resource Solutions Corp. and will now be offering reduced rates on recycling for all of your electronic waste. If you have old equipment that needs to be recycled please drop it off at: Applied Tech Solutions 203 S. Paterson St. Suite 500, Madison, WI 53703.

Prepare for the Unexpected
Having an incident response plan can mean the difference between recovering quickly and losing your business entirely. Learn some key areas to focus on when developing your incident response plan.

Your business most likely relies on IT for a variety of tasks, including the storage of business documents, customer information, financial records, and accounting information. In addition, you probably rely on computers to conduct many daily business operations. Though no one wants to deal with the possibility of something unfortunate happening to their business, planning for the unexpected today could save your business tomorrow. Here are some key areas to focus on when developing your incident response plan.

Data protection: Your business may have thousands of records that are updated on a regular basis, so it's critical to develop a system for backing up all of your files. There are a variety of methods available. One option is called Disk-based backup, which is becoming the method of choice for many small businesses, due to both its cost effectiveness and its ability to provide continuous data protection.
