7 Instant Messaging Rules for the
Workplace
reprinted with permission from the HP
Small and Medium Business Website

Because of its efficiency and
speed, instant messaging, or IM for short, has become a valuable
interoffice tool for employees to exchange information and collaborate
in real time. The
advantages of IM are clear. But there are drawbacks too. IM can be
distracting; employees can waste time using it for personal
conversations; and IM technology is often not secure, leaving corporate
networks more vulnerable to viruses and attacks. And because of the
informal nature of IM, it can sometimes lead to embarrassing or serious
mistakes. By
following these seven rules for appropriate IM use, you can avoid common
pitfalls and make the most out of this effective and convenient
communications tool. |

The Elephant Named Sharepoint
Many
of us have heard the fable about the blind men and the elephant. When the men
were asked to describe what an elephant looked like the descriptions ranged from
a snake to a tree to a fan depending on whether the blind man had touched the
trunk, the leg or the ear. What does an ancient fable like this have to do with
technology? It’s the same problem we have when we try to explain to you how
useful a tool Microsoft SharePoint can be to your business. SharePoint is so
flexible and has so many uses; we often have trouble describing it in a way you
can get the whole picture.
So, here goes our description of
SharePoint. It’s: |

December is always
such a busy month. With Thanksgiving over and the Christmas
shopping in gear it is an exciting time of the year. Your AT&T
team at
Dynamic
Computer Solutions
wanted to pause to express our heartfelt Merry Christmas and a
Happy New Year to each of you.
This is a reminder
that AT&T has many promotions for their local, long distance and
internet products. Most of the promotions may end in December.
If you wonder if one of these promotions would benefit your
business please call and let our team review your bills.
Do you need an
upgrade from DSL service to a faster speed? Is your
internet mission critical? Do you need service level
agreements? Please consider an upgrade to a dedicated
internet with the same download and upload speed to accommodate
any bandwidth your business needs.
Does it seem
your entire staff is on the phone at the same time? Do you
really need more lines but concerned about the cost? Why
not bundle services together, get a promotional rate and
see what the actual cost would be.
Do you need a
monthly rate for long distance so your business does not have a
surprise at month end? ATT has a block of time for long distance
minutes of use – controlling what is spent.
Take a minute
of your busy season and give us a call to see what we can do for
your telecommunication needs.
Please remember
that no matter how tight you think things are , there is someone
that has it worse. Your friends at
Dynamic
Computer Solutions
of Topeka sincerely hope you have very Merry Christmas
and the happiest of holiday seasons.
