Business Continuity: Business as
usual. No matter what.
Five steps every business should take to prepare for a business
interruption.
When people think of disasters, they generally envision hurricanes,
tornados or floods - catastrophic events that devastate communities. But
for a business, a disaster can be something as small as a failed switch
or computer virus. These seemingly minor events can have a shocking
impact on a business, often bringing operations to a standstill.
“The impacts of an
interruption can be stunning,” says Bob Boyd, President and CEO of
Agility Recovery Solutions, the industry leader in mobile business
continuity solutions for small to mid-sized businesses. “Statistics
indicate that about 60 percent of the businesses affected by a disaster
will not survive because they do not have a recovery plan in place.”
Creating a basic,
executable business continuity plan is one of the most important steps
you can take to protect your organization and assure business as usual –
no matter what the scenario.
Here are five key steps to help you get
started.
Quote of the
Month
Not what we say
about our blessings, but how we use them,
is the true measure of our thanksgiving.

Riding the Economic Rollercoaster
reprinted with permission
from HP
Stephen
Minton, vice president, Worldwide IT Markets and Strategies, IDC, offers
insight on how outsourcing can help you ride out the economic
downturn—and maybe even gain a leg up on the competition along the way.
Rising gasoline prices.
Falling consumer confidence. Subprime mortgages. Inflation. Budget cuts.
Currency fluctuations. Floods, droughts and crop shortages. Each day's
news seems to add to the torrent of challenges heading our way. No
business is immune—but outsourcing can offer a way to leverage
technology to help stem the negative tide.
Here, IDC's Stephen Minton
shares his expert views and experience on the subject—and puts some
useful perspective around when it does and does not make sense to
consider outsourcing in today's volatile economic climate.

Check your
monthly bill for services never ordered
Lately we have seen
several customer bills with questionable monthly charges. The
charge is listed after ATT Local, Internet and Long Distance on
the first page of your bill. We’ve seen charges under at least
two business names, ILD Teleservices and Enhanced Services.
Details of the charges appear at the end of your bill. Various
charges are listed, ranging from $5.99 for LD Directory
Assistance (which is free info on the internet white pages
directory) to $49.95 for 24 hour PC tech support. Other
questionable services we have seen are charges for a web page
service that we could not find with Google and an 800 number you
can give out as a contact number.
Since none of our
customers were aware that they had ‘signed up’ for these
services, we don’t know if any of them do work as described.
If you have unknown
charges on your bill, please call the specific company number
listed with the detailed billing or contact the ATT Team at
Dynamic
Computer Solutions at 785-354-7000. If it is not a
legitimate charge, cancel the service and ask for a refund of
past charges (it never hurts to ask).
Calling ATT will
NOT remove the charges. ATT is only the billing agent for these
other companies.
A helpful hint from
your AT&T Solution Provider team at
Dynamic.
