Client Profile

Hall Wines

Since first working in her family’s Mendocino vineyards, Kathryn Hall dreamed of a place to showcase fine wines alongside expressive art and masterful architecture.

Now, Kathryn and Craig Hall are creating an unrivalled destination in the Napa Valley—where winemaking excellence meets contemporary design to celebrate life and inspire the senses.

HALL’s estate vineyards encompass more than five hundred acres of classic Bordeaux varietals; Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Sauvignon Blanc.

As winegrowers, the Halls have a strong respect for the environment and a commitment to cutting-edge vineyard technology to yield the highest quality grapes. Through meticulous attention to detail in the vineyards, HALL wines are able to express the unique and diverse character of Napa Valley’s soils and climate.

The U.S. Green Building Council just named HALL Wines the first Gold LEED Certified Winery in the state of California.

Investing Your IT dollars -
Are you focused below or above the Red Line

Thank you to so many who participated in our July Cloud Computing Lunch & Learn. With good reason it was the most interactive and popular presentation we have hosted. From this event and many other recent conversations we keep hearing the same message. Either the IT department -- or even management themselves -- are underwater trying to maintain a network, while the desire is for IT to focus on strategic initiatives that add to the company’s competitive advantage.

Whether IT is a strategic value to an organization is well demonstrated in what we call an IT Value stack. In this chart there is a red line separating IT functions. Anything above the line is strategic and makes sense for a business to invest time and cash. Anything below that line is rapidly becoming utility computing and should be viewed as a sunk cost with an emphasis on turning Capex into Opex.

Please join us August 26th or 27th for the next topic in our Lunch and Learn series: Investing Your IT Dollars – Are you focused above or below the red line. We will help you answer questions about what you can do today to get the most value out of your IT spending.

The Real Value of Social Media

If you could connect to the world’s business professionals, in the time it takes to check your email, wouldn’t you? Welcome to the world of online networking, where valuable business connections are made every day on social and professional networking sites like Twitter, Facebook and Linkedin.

Social and professional networking simply refers to the interaction between a community of people who share a common interest. Through these personal connections you can give your business a personality, build brand awareness, and equally importantly, tune in to what people are saying about you.

At PlanIT Solutions, we have embraced Twitter as an interactive portal where we can foster dialog around the latest in technology. And more importantly, discuss how better technology can drive better business decisions. Twitter has become a valuable medium for building relationships, sharing ideas, and viewing feedback on how we perform. Please follow us on Twitter at www.twitter.com/psolutions as we provide relevant and timely updates on the constantly changing world of technology.
