CP Shades

David Weinstein founded CP Shades in 1975 with one main principle in mind. He wanted to produce great, fashionable, long-lasting and wearable clothes. He knew that the only way he could manufacture a product that held up to his standards was to make it himself. So he set out to build a factory to sell product made in the USA.

30 years later, CP Shades is still manufacturing in the Bay Area; now home in Sausalito. And at tradeshows and events, our factory is the first thing we speak of. The benefits of producing locally are remarkable in this market place. While competitors fight for quota and sit waiting for product to be shipped (via boat) from Asia, CP Shades requires only 2-3 weeks of lead time. As a result, we can react to the market in the season and produce and ship goods that retailers need. By owning their own operations, CP Shades is able to tailor their production to meet the customer’s needs.

And the factory is amazing. At any given moment in the work day, Chinese Rock and Roll can be heard blasting throughout the building. With over 30 full-time sewers and 3 cutters operating daily, CP Shades’ manufacturing capabilities has allowed the company to fortify their position in the marketplace. CP Shades is proud to say it mass produces a hand-made product in America.

With the Holidays upon us the time has come for us to reflect upon the events of this year, to plan for 2010 and most importantly to thank all of our clients for their support throughout 2009. During one of the most challenging years in recent history, we are encouraged that so many of our clients have used thoughtful planning, strong determination and tremendous creativity to grow and remain successful. Congratulations Andrew.

We are pleased to announce that our very own CTO, Andrew Gaskill, has recently been married to his fiancé Daniela. After a small private wedding on November 29th, the groom and his lovely bride were whisked off to the Hawaiian Islands for a romantic honeymoon. Congratulations to Andrew and best wishes to his new bride, may they find much joy, happiness and love together.
