Client Profile

The Rare Wine Co. is one of America's most respected wine merchants. We are specialists in sourcing impeccably cellared examples of the world's greatest and most sought-after wines, and our prices are often the lowest you'll find. We maintain a vast inventory of rarities at our home in Sonoma, as well as in Europe.

While no one does a better job of coming up with whatever is hot and hare-to-find in today's market, our real strength lies in finding the next superstar before others do, as well as in locating the great vintages of legendary producers.

The Rare Wine Co. was founded in 1989 by Mannie Berk. In 2002, a panel of wine journalists and wine trade leaders voted us the Best Wine Importer in America, as part of Food & Wine magazine's American Wine Awards. And in both 2002 and 2004, Mannie was named a Wine Personality of the Year by Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.

Welcome
A Collaborative Approach to Increasing Productivity

Good Morning and a quick thank you to all who attended our Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Lunch and Learn last week. What a great turn out. For those in attendance, your input and enthusiasm made the event a great success. The exchange of ideas, and personal interaction added tremendous value to the presentation. For those who missed the event, based on the high level of interest for this subject, we will be holding a second Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery seminar this summer at a larger venue.

Our February Lunch and Learn, “A Collaborative Approach to Increasing Productivity”, is geared towards business continuity as well, but from a different angle. How we manage data, or in some cases how data manages us, has become a highly discussed topic. Everyone agrees that there are better solutions, but what are they.

We will discuss solutions and share lessons that we have learned firsthand as we have trialed, adopted and finally mastered Microsoft SharePoint. We have been amazed with what having the ability to truly manage our data has done for our productivity.

So please join us for our February Lunch and Learn on how to Search, Share, and Collaborate.

Ideas to Help You to Use
SharePoint Effectively in Your Business

Top 20 ways that SharePoint can solve your common business needs. And I want to emphasize that these 20 are only a few of the many ways to utilize SharePoint .

1 Store all your emails on a secure and centralized Website for easy archive.
2 Keep a central task location for assigning tasks to team members. These tasks will automatically show up in your team's Outlook 2007 To-Do List. Those tasks will also link to your projects so you can easily find out what tasks are still open for each project.
3 Organize large events and store the related documents, assigned tasks, and generally post anything and everything related to the events. It will also integrate with Outlook for added efficiency.

PlanIT Solutions Launches a Community Service Program – extends eWaste Drive

We are truly excited at PlanIT to Launch our company wide Community Service Program. Every employee will have time each quarter to volunteer and work with the Community Service or Charity of their choice. “The enthusiasm has been tremendous” declared Jennifer King, PlanIT's Queen of Community Service. “People are finding a wide variety of activities ranging from donating time to their kids schools, to volunteering for Cancer support programs."

Jennifer has also extended the eWaste Drive one more month based on all of the success in January.

Do you have old monitors sitting in the corners? Workstations that are not being used? The New Year is a perfect time to eliminate your old unused equipment; and to kick off 2009, PlanIT Solutions is extending our eWaste drive through February.

Your old equipment will be donated to the local charities.  PlanIT Solutions will donate our time to refurbish and spruce up the equipment to make sure everything is in working order. All equipment that cannot be donated will be properly recycled through an e-waste organization.

For those interested in taking it a step further, and have servers or other equipment that you are interested in consolidating, we welcome the opportunity to discuss green options that are not only good for the environment, but provide long term financial benefits.

This is the first of many ewaste drives PlanIT Solutions will offer. We strongly believe in supporting our clients, the community and the environment. Even the smallest changes can add up to a big difference for the environment and to local charities and non profits.
