M.A. Silva Corks
Meeting a higher standard…
Today’s U.S. winemakers demand more quality assurance. Our
firm meets that demand with the finest wine corks in
America.
What we do
Established in 2001, M.A. Silva Corks is a collaboration
between leading Portuguese cork producer M.A. Silva Cortiças
and long-time U.S. industry representative, Neil Foster.
After purchasing corks on the open market for numerous
years, Foster knew, too well, the short-comings of most cork
suppliers. To satisfy his customers, Foster sought a strong
and proven partner with the right combination of capacity
and know-how to satisfy the growing demands of exacting U.S.
winemakers.
Partners Neil Foster and Manuel Silva share a common vision:
To meet the higher standard of America’s most progressive
winemakers.

Welcome
Thank you
to all who attended our recent Lunch and Learns on
the strategic role of IT in business growth. We firmly believe that the strategic convergence of
IT and business goals can lead to a competitive
advantage for any organization. If you weren’t able
to join one of our sessions, or if you just have
questions about it, please email me at
skellam@planits.com.
One of the
initiatives that came up often during and after our
Lunch and Learns was CRM (Customer Relationship
Management). With so many CRM options now
available in terms of both scope and cost, CRM is a
strategic initiative where IT can have an immediate
impact on a business’ goals. While PlanIT is not a
CRM implementer, we take pride in delivering timely
insight and relevant thought leadership agendas to
our lunch and learn attendees. CRM is a strong
player in any strategic IT plan and it’s amazing how
many companies aren’t using it to it’s full
advantage. We have strong, reputable partners that
can offer a wealth of information around this topic.
Our next
lunch and learn will focus on CRM and the value it
can bring to an organization. Today’s CRMs are no
longer digital rolodexes, they are dynamic tools
used to build deep relationships with your customers
and define your prospects. Please join us November
4th and 5th to learn how a CRM solution can help
your business surpass its goals. We will be joined
by several experienced CRM users and by Marc Wolenik
from Webfortis, a Microsoft CRM implementer
and one of PlanIT Solutions strategic partners.

Windows 7 Professional and Macs Snow Leopard Have Arrived
We
are excited to announce the arrival of new operating systems from
Microsoft, Windows 7 and Mac, Snow Leopard. While both offer exciting
new features and updates, most importantly we want to make sure you are
getting the support you need with these new OSs. If you are looking to
upgrade your OS or purchase a new computer we ask you to reach out to us
so we can help you plan properly. Windows 7 has been tested and is
currently working with our monitoring service and will be fully
supported when it is launched. Mac SnowLeopard is not, at this time, a
PlanIT supported OS. Currently supported machines, if upgraded to
SnowLeopard, will break the functionality of the monitoring agent. If
you do choose to upgrade to Snow Leopard before our monitoring agents
can support it, we will handle any issues/requests on a time and
materials basis. In the near future our monitoring agents will have the
capability to support this new OS and we can provide proactive
monitoring as we do your other systems currently. We will be sure to let
you know when the updated monitoring agents are available.
If you have any questions
on upgrades or purchases, please let us know and we will be happy to
assist you.
Thank you,
Jennifer King

Employee Spotlight
–
Terry Tomasini
Terry Tomasini joined
PlanIT Solutions January 1st, 2004 as a Technology Strategist, and
has been involved with Business Development ever since. He has seen
the business grow from 6 employees to our current 19. Terry has
brought extensive data and voice solutions development experience to
his current position as a Business Development Consultant. He gained
both business and technical experience working with Johnson &
Johnson, Abbott Laboratories, Advanced TelCom Group and Lucent.
Terry has the rare
combination of technical acumen and business intelligence. He is
especially adept at bridging the communication barrier between
business units’ goals and technology resources. He can quickly
identify “broken” business processes where technology can be
integrated to improve efficiency and the bottom line -- or better
yet, drive new business and capture market share.
Terry says, “Focusing on
solutions development that strategically align IT needs with
business goals is an enjoyable challenge.”
