Heartland Technology Solutions, located in downtown Joplin, has partnered with Kansas City based NetStandard Inc. to provide cloud computing business solutions at no cost to help Joplin businesses affected by the tornado to rapidly recover and ensure survivability. This is a particularly vulnerable time for Joplin businesses that were affected by the May 22nd tornado. And time is of the essence, disaster recovery for businesses is most successful when it is immediate: 93% of companies that lose their data center for 10 days or more due to a disaster file for bankruptcy within one year of the disaster* (*Source: National Archives & Records Administration in Washington).

These hosted cloud business solutions (including e-mail, calendar collaboration, file sharing and more) will be delivered directly to business owners’ computers via the internet – enabling them to access their data and operate their business from any location through NetStandard’s cloud computing product, Myappsanywhere. NetStandard will provide the hosted service to as many businesses as it can handle and that can benefit from NetStandard’s service, at no cost, in an effort to provide support for companies during this critical time of recovery from the recent disaster.

"It’s a devastating situation for the people of Joplin – including business owners who need to resume operations as soon as possible in order to stay afloat,” explained Jeff Melcher, CEO of NetStandard. “We’re eager to provide the support Joplin businesses will need, with a solution that lets them operate from virtually anywhere. Their files will be securely stored and backed up at our location, which means they don’t need to purchase and maintain computer servers at their business. They can access all of their business applications from wherever they are with a laptop, using their cell phone for voice communication."

NetStandard and HTS are working together to help businesses. Jane Cage, COO of HTS said “We are grateful for the generous offer of NetStandard. We can help businesses assess their needs and guide them through the next steps to take advantage of NetStandard services.”

“It is often possible to recover data even in the worst of circumstances so businesses should definitely explore that potential,” said Melcher.  “Once data is recovered, we can provide the support to deliver it where they can use it.”
