In 1985, two companies were formed with very different focuses. SCCI was formed in Harlan, IA to serve the computer needs of area businesses and agriculture. Connecting Point Computer Center was also formed in Joplin, MO as a retail computer center serving individuals and businesses. Both companies grew over time, changing their focus to meet the IT support needs of small to mid-size businesses and education. In January 2003, SCCI and Connecting Point merged their operations to form Heartland Technology Solutions.
Shortly thereafter, HTS purchased Beacon Micro Center in Ames, Iowa and, in 2006, merged Business Computer Centers of Kansas into the HTS family gaining locations in Northeast Oklahoma and Central Kansas. In 2008, HTS established a new location in Omaha, NE and in October 2010 acquired Computers, Networks, Solutions, Inc. in St. Joseph, MO, giving HTS seven regional locations across the Midwest.
Today, HTS provides IT support, technology services, technology assessments, and computer equipment to Small to Mid-Size Businesses, Government Agencies, Education, and the Agriculture Industry. We are highly regarded in the vendor community and have strong partnerships with Microsoft, HP, and SonicWALL. Our executive team serves on many advisory councils to represent computer resellers across the country.
