Ag Leader is pleased to announce an exciting new product called SMS Mobile. SMS Mobile allows in-field documentation that will help record information about the details of your crop. You will then be able to use this data before, during and after the growing season to make better decisions.

SMS Mobile has been developed from the ground up by Ag Leader. SMS Mobile works seamlessly with SMS Basic and SMS Advanced and takes many of the great features and puts them into a package that can be used “in the field”.

Modes of Operation for SMS Mobile

• Boundary Mode – Records field outlines and area in each field.

• General Logging Mode – Create and edit point, line, and polygon datasets. Example of polygon datasets include observation sites for crop scouting functions, tile lines and management zones.

• Coverage Mode – Continuously logs and records data for any operation providing an area covered. For example recording the placement of different hybrids within your fields.

• Soil Sampling Mode – Creates and/or navigates to each area to pull soil samples.

• Crop Scouting Mode **NEW SPRING 2008**– Creates and/or navigates to each area to record scouting information.

Integrated yet Flexible

SMS Mobile was designed to work seamlessly with the SMS desktop packages but also allows flexibility if users choose to use a different desktop solution.

SMS Mobile has complete integration with SMS desktop packages. Field names, field boundaries, backgrounds (aerial photography, soil maps, and yield maps) and many other items can be transferred from SMS Basic or SMS Advanced. This assures efficient work out in the field and accurate information is passed back to SMS Basic or SMS Advanced.

SMS Mobile can also be configured in the field without using desktop software. SMS Mobile can directly export all logged data in a shape file format for use in other software applications.

Automatic Field Selection

When GPS is used, SMS Mobile will automatically prompt the user with the correct field and other management information based on the current location. Thus when moving from field to field SMS Mobile will help select correct field names & management information.

• Creation of variable rate prescriptions for use in Ag Leader's precision farming systems, including the InSight display and PFAdvantage, PF3000Pro, and PF3000 monitors, as well as other application equipment.
• Customizable maps, reports and charts.
• Query selection tools help you choose areas for further analysis. (i.e. - Yield by Soil Type, Yield by Hybrid/Variety)

Whether you’re a farmer, crop consultant or service provider, SMS Advanced precision farming software gives you the same powerful tools that you’ll find in SMS Basic, along with additional features that can help you wring even more information (and profit) out of your fields. This software is ideal for anyone who needs more in-depth funcionality option such as multi-year averaging, profit-loss analysis, recommendation equation building, and multi-client data archiving.

Guidance Planning/Support

SMS Advanced’s guidance editor allows you to write A-B line patterns for guidance. The patterns can then be exported to EZ-Guide Plus products and AgGPS Autopilot controllers for use in the field. Recorded patterns can also be stored in SMS, then exported for next season’s use for precise repeatability.

Crop Planning & Evaluation

Our Crop Plan editor lets you forecast planting, seeding and fertilizer needs. You can also determine intended locations for specific varieties and target specific rates and application dates. Using the Crop Plan editor will help ensure the crops are treated as intended during the busy application season.

When finished planting, you can use SMS Advanced's Job/Task capabilities to generate a report displaying the created crop plan vs. actual rates, acres and dates that were applied in the field. Planned operations can vary greatly when compared to actual applications. The Job/Task report can help identify where those differences occur.

Warehouse of Information

SMS Advanced makes managing information from multiple growers simple. The software’s Project feature allows you to set up each grower as a separate project. By doing this, you can process all of your growers’ data more efficiently in “Batch” mode, while keeping information for each grower completely independent and secure. Each grower’s information can then be sent electronically for use in their own copy of SMS Basic or SMS Advanced, saving time and expense while allowing each grower to view and manage their own data.

Terrain View Create maps that allow you to visualize field-level data in 3D using SMS Advanced’s unique Terrain View feature. This feature gives you outstanding insights into field drainage issues, terracing, ect.

Calendar View An SMS exclusive, Calendar View provides an easy-to-read calendar format that gives you a unique chronological view of your field activities. Calendar View gives you better insight into how timing of field work can impact yield.
