As a manufacturer of many different engineering & technology products, Raven Industries needed a solution that would allow them to communicate easily between departments and easily work together on projects.

Solution

Heartland Technology Solutions and Raven collaborated to implement a full Unified Communications solution that would help drive communication, cut costs on meetings with clients and internally, as well as assist in knowing when staff is available.

Implementation

The implementation consisted of IM Communicator and Live Meeting, along with Presence integrated into an existing Cisco phone system. They are now dialing from Communicator and are using the voice capabilities.

Customer Impact

The staff is now able to save costs with the use of Live Meeting, and the enhanced presence feature lets them collaborate easier throughout the day by knowing when other staff members are available. By installing the OCS Web Role, employees are now able to easily communicate with each other even while traveling. With the OCS federation feature installed, they are also able to communicate with trusted partners, allowing Raven to complete projects in a more efficient, timely manner. As a backend update service, Sharepoint was also installed with the full solution.
