Overview of Solution

In 2007 HTS implemented an SBS server for Sue’s. Taylor Smith, the President, then approached HTS in 2008 to install a SQL server for an in-truck computer solution. HTS supports Sue’s and has a managed services contract with Sue’s to take care of their BDR solution.

Customer Pain

Sue’s needed a secure and reliable location to store customer data. Sue’s also needed a full SQL server to operate their accounting and onboard truck software.

Assessment

HTS engineers and the Account Manager designed a system utilizing the Microsoft Terminal SBS 2003 solution, in conjunction with a VPN connection through the SonicWall TZ 180. The second phase used Microsoft SQL in conjunction with their vendor’s software. The result is a 3 location business with one centralized server as well as a small fleet of trucks that have onboard computers that allow them to communicate route info as well as process payments from the truck.

Vision and Solution

HTS Staff developed a solution utilizing the close partnerships we hold with Microsoft, HP, and SonicWall. This solution has allowed Sue’s to become more mobile and more functional in the field. As the company continues to grow HTS will be a valuable asset for Sue’s to have.

Implementation

HTS initially installed the SBS server and utilized the Exchange server capabilities. The following summer HTS installed their SQL server and was a resource as the third party vendors installed and implemented their software. HTS currently provides ongoing service to Sue’s as well as managing their back-up solution.

Customer Impact

Sue’s now has a centralized area to store critical data as well as hosted email. Sue’s is also able to utilize their technology to input information for accounts on their on-board solution HTS helped to implement. Sue’s has become more efficient and streamlined.
