Overview of Solution
HTS installed an HP ML350 server to back up the old existing VanderVeen & Goracke server. This was done without risking any data loss and without changing anything on the client machines. This was a priority for them since they were in the middle of tax season.

The partners at VanderVeen & Goracke were looking for some type of quick and easy add-on storage device to get them through tax season and deal with the system upgrade during the spring and summer. The partners believed a server upgrade during tax season would be out of the question, but needed to know what other options they had.
Assessment and Implementation
HTS recommended to backup the old server using the Shadow Protect Server Software This gave the ability to migrate one physical server to another either physical or Virtual. This also expanded the drive sizes when restoring the server.
HTS also recommended getting the new equipment so they could back up and restore the server. There would be no data loss and then server would be the same without having to change anything on the client machines. It would just be like it had been shut off for a while.

The HTS's recommended solution allowed VanderVeen & Goracke to avoid running out of storage during their critical tax season. By using the Shadow Protect Server Software, HTS was able to avoid the risk of losing any data.
